FMCSA Supervisor Training
Our FMCSA Supervisor Training is an interactive online course that meets the requirements of DOT 49 CFR Part 382.603. This program equips supervisors with skills to recognize signs, symptoms, and performance indicators of drug abuse and alcohol misuse. With this training, supervisors can determine whether reasonable suspicion exists to require testing, promoting a safer workplace for everyone.
Compliance with CFR: FMCSA Supervisor Training
Section 382.603 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) requires employers to train supervisors of commercial motor vehicle drivers on alcohol and controlled substance use. This training helps supervisors spot signs of drug and alcohol use that justify reasonable suspicion testing under §382.307.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) mandates:
- 60 minutes of training on alcohol misuse
- 60 minutes of training on controlled substances
FMCSA Supervisor Training covers:
- Physical indicators
- Behavioral signs
- Speech patterns
- Performance issues
Supervisors only need to complete this training once in their careers. It applies to all individuals designated to supervise drivers, including dispatchers, lead workers, foremen, and managers. Educated supervisors help protect the public and ensure drivers understand the impact of alcohol and drugs on safety and health.
